First phase – qualify or validate technical foundation of a case. CIE will review some documents and photos and if needed, set up a virtual field examination to reduce the upfront costs. We won’t take every case or may not be able to directly support or defend liability. We can provide expert services in helping you with content for depositions and evaluations of opposing experts’ reports. It is not uncommon for us to find inaccuracies in codes and standards used and a lack of a foundation.

- CIE will set up a ShareFile or SharePoint secure folder. Guidance documents are uploaded in the folder for your use as well as for discovery. Share appropriate documents in the folder.

- Opposing counsel
- Loss Address, city and state
- Date of loss
- Loss Contact information, name, phone, email, position
- Loss description
- Scope of assignment
- Attach documents or photos if available or upload into ShareFile folder.
- CIE provides a link to a virtual inspection session, if needed, with a link to any support applications needed.
- During the virtual inspection, CIE will guide you to document the areas of interest as well as identify some of the potential causes of the liability claim.
- CIE assesses the potential causes for the incident and identifies codes and standards that may apply.
- You decide if a report or further expert engineering efforts are needed.
